İngilizce para ile ilgili kelimeler “How much?” sorularını cevaplarken cümlede kullanılabilir. Bazı para birimleri aşağıda verilmiştir.
– İngiltere’nin para birimi “pound sterling”, ya da sadece “pound”dur. Ve simgesi ise £.
1 Pound 100 penny’den oluşur. Penny tekil isimdir. 1p = one penny
Penny’nin çoğulu ise “pence” tir. 50p = fifty pence

1 Türk Lirası 100 kuruştan meydana gelmektedir. Ve kuruş için bir simge olmayıp “kr.” şeklinde kısaltılmaktadır.
Türkçede para miktarı önce, sembol daha sonra yazılır, ancak bu durum İngilizcede tam tersidir, önce paranın sembolü sonra miktarı yazılır.

İngilizcede “How much” “Ne kadar” anlamına gelir. Fiyat sorarken kullanılır. “How much” ile 2 farklı şekilde fiyat sorulabilir.

İkincisi; “How much do/does …………. cost? şeklindedir.
“cost” bir eylemdir. “fiyatı olmak” anlamına gelir. Bu yüzden “cost” ile soru yaparken “do” ya da “does” kullanılır.

“need” ihtiyacı olmak anlamına gelir. “want” ise istemek anlamına gelir.
“How much money do/does ……….need?” sorusu bir kişinin ne kadar paraya ihtiyacı olduğunu sorarken, “How much money do/does ……..want?” bir kişinin ne kadar para istediğini sorar.
