İngilizce sayılarda “and” kullanımı : Sayılarda “and” kullanmak zorunlu değildir. Ama kullanacaksak da “hundred”dan sonra getirilir. Ama yüzler basamağı 0 olan 4 basamaklı bir sayıyı söylerken “thousand”dan sonra getirilir.
Örneğin; 1111 = one thousand one hundred and eleven
1011 = one thousand and evelen

1 yaşında olduğu zaman “years” kullanılmaz. “years” çoğul bir kelimedir, 1’den büyük yaşlarda kullanılır ama 1 yaşında ise tekil kullanmak gerekir, bu yüzden “year” kullanırız.
“HOW MANY” QUESTIONS
“How many” “Kaç tane” anlamına gelir ve bir şeyin kaç tane olduğunu sormamızı sağlar.
Bu soru oluşturulurken kullandığımız kelime mutlaka çoğul olmalıdır.
There is / There are
Hem “there is” hem de “there are” “var” anlamına gelir. Aralarındaki fark ise; “there is” tekil isimlerle kullanılır. Yani bir şeyden 1 tane varsa “there is” kullanırız. “There are” çoğul isimlerle kullanılır. Bir şeyden birden fazla varsa “there are” kullanmamız gerekir.
“How many” sorularında da çoğul isim kullanmamız gerektiği için soru da “How many ………… are there?” şeklinde sormalıyız.
