16. Listen to the telephone conversation between Cem and Mika and answer: How many nights did Cem stay in
London?
Cem : Hi, Mika. It’s Cem.
Mika : Hi, Cem. Where are you?
Cem : We are in Venice. We have been here since eight o’clock in the morning. We have already travelled through the Brenner Pass. It was wonderful. We have just had a boat ride along the Giudecca Canal to Piazza San Marco. Have you ever been to Venice? It’s fantastic.
Mika : No, I have never been there. Maybe we can go there together next time. What is Brenner Pass?
Cem : It’s a mountain pass through the Alps. It’s along the border between Italy and Austria.
Mika : Interesting. Which cities have you visited so far?
Cem : We have visited London. We stayed at a nice hotel there. The hosts were very helpful and friendly and the meals were delicious.
Mika : How long did you stay in London?
Cem : We stayed there for two nights.
Mika : What did you do there?
Cem : We took a panoramic tour of London and visited the Tower of London. We also took an excursion to Windsor Castle and a cruise on the River Thames.
Mika : I have read a lot about those places. They are London’s landmarks. You should take a lot of photographs during your vacation. You know travelling is one of the best ways of learning. You should take notes about the places, too.
Cem : Yes, I know. I have already taken a lot of photographs. I’ll show them to you when I come back. I must go now. I’ll call you later. Bye, Mika.
